Important Coronavirus Alert

3/12/2020

We are paying close attention to the evolving Coronavirus situation. We are presently following the rapidly changing guidelines from the CDC, the NYS health department, and we are working closely with the Albany County Health department.

The course of this virus is unprecedented. Our focus is on the safety and well being of our patients, their families, and the community as a whole.

PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT WE WILL CONTINUE TO BASE OUR GUIDANCE ON THE MOST CURRENT RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE CDC, NYS AND ALBANY COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENTS TO THE EXTENT THAT IT IS POSSIBLE IN LIEU OF THE PRESENT SUPPLY SHORTAGES.

If your child has mild viral symptoms please CALL the office. Note that the best course of action may be to stay at home to prevent both the transmission of, or the potential acquisition of the virus.

Please make the office staff aware by phone about any travel history or possible COVID-19 exposure before bringing your child into the office.

There is currently NO in office ‘bedside’ test available for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). Testing will most likely be done at the hospitals in controlled environments on the sickest patients.

Emergency rooms and Urgent Care centers may be stretched to capacity during a large surge in Coronavirus cases. Please avoid these for MINOR medical issues in the event of a viral outbreak in our area due to the risk of potentially contracting the virus.

If your child is showing signs of more significant illness please CALL the office immediately for phone evaluation and guidance. More significant cases may require hospitalization.
