Newborn visits
Welcoming Your New Baby
We love welcoming new babies — and new families — to our practice! Bringing home a newborn is an exciting time, but it can also feel overwhelming. Our goal is to support you every step of the way.
We strive to see all newborns within 48 hours of hospital discharge. Whenever possible, we reserve our first afternoon appointments for newborns so they can be brought directly into a private exam room upon arrival.
During your baby’s first visit, we will:
- Review your pregnancy and delivery history
- Document your family’s medical history
- Perform a complete newborn examination
- Monitor weight gain and jaundice
- Answer your questions about feeding, sleep, and newborn care
If you are breastfeeding, we will carefully evaluate your baby’s weight, feeding, and latch to develop a personalized feeding plan. During those important first days and weeks we are happy to see you every 24–48 hours if needed to monitor progress and provide support.
We are also fortunate to have an experienced Labor & Delivery nurse on our staff who can provide additional breastfeeding guidance when needed.

Well child visits & physicals
Well Child Visits & Physicals
Regular well child visits are one of the most important ways we help your child stay healthy. These appointments allow us to monitor growth and development, answer your questions, provide recommended immunizations, and identify concerns early — often before they become bigger problems.
Each visit is an opportunity to discuss nutrition, sleep, school behavior, mental health, and any concerns you have as your child grows. We follow the preventive care schedule recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Routine well child visits occur at:
- 2 weeks
- 1 month
- 2 months
- 4 months
- 6 months
- 9 months
- 12 months
- 15 months
- 18 months
- 24 months

Sick visits
Sick Visits, Seen the Same Day
Children rarely get sick at convenient times. That’s why we reserve appointments every day for children who need to be seen promptly.
Seeing your child in our office when they are ill allows us to provide more personalized care while maintaining a complete medical history. It also helps us recognize patterns, evaluate how previous treatments have worked, and determine when additional testing or specialty care may be appropriate.
If your child wakes up sick, call us as early as 7:00 am and we will schedule a same-day appointment.

Virtual visits
Virtual Visits
For certain medical concerns, a virtual visit offers the convenience of seeing your child’s physician from home through our secure, encrypted electronic medical record system.
Virtual visits may be appropriate for concerns such as:
- Fever
- Constipation
- Vomiting or diarrhea
- Many rashes
- Tick bites
- Follow-up visits
- Short-term behavioral concerns
If we determine that your child needs a physical examination or laboratory testing, we will schedule an in-office follow-up to ensure they receive the best possible care.

Behavioral & mental health
Behavioral & Mental Health
We know that when children are struggling, parents are often struggling too. Access to pediatric behavioral and mental health services can be limited, and we are committed to helping families navigate these challenges.
We provide initial evaluations, treatment, and ongoing guidance for many common behavioral and mental health concerns. When specialized care is needed, we will help coordinate referrals and work closely with other providers.
We commonly help families with:
- Tantrums and challenging behaviors
- Potty training
- Developmental and behavioral concerns
- ADHD evaluations and management
- Anxiety
- Depression
Behavioral visits may be scheduled with parents alone or with your child present. Many follow-up appointments can also be completed through telehealth.
